FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Question: Do you buy old ads, magazines & records?
Answer: Not usually. Currently we have thousands of magazines and records in our two warehouse facilities.
Question: What are your shipping fees, are there any hidden charges?
Answer: When our website was established in 1998 shipping costs were much lower than they are today. When the programmer asked what the shipping charges would be we gave them a blanket charge for each country. United States, Canada, and International would all be separated by country or zip code. Shipping charges remained the same for nearly 5 years. Today with shipping charges on the rise we have been forced to add a small percentage as our package suppliers have been forced to do.
At this writing shipping charges are:
$6.85 total for US orders (1 item to 1,000) items
On May 14 the United States Postal Service restructured their shipping rates for worldwide mailings. This rate increase has caused issues with our charging method. We will no longer have a flat fee for International & Canadian clients. Instead, our shipping will appear on your original bill as $0.00, your order will be weighed and you will be charged actual shipping. You should expect two separate charges, one for your items, and one for the shipping. US shipping structure will remain at a flat rate.
THERE ARE NO HIDDEN FEE'S - which we believe is the main reason we have been your trusted supplier for more than 25 years.
Depending on weight and destination, some orders will be sent regular USPS while others may be sent by UPS. Most everything is shipped by First Class Mail to 1 Lb then we use the Priority Mail service.
We do offer Express Service for United States residents only. Most Express Shipments are $25.00 extra and only added when you check box the service. It will be added to the order on this end and shipped as quickly as possible. We do not ship Express on Friday Saturday or Sunday. Please remember that not every city in the USA have next day delivery. If you want to make certain that your package will make it by next day, please call your local post office and ask if your zip code can receive a package next day from zip code 46104 and or 46173.
Question: Do you offer quantity discounts?
Answer: Yes. On an order of $500.00 or more we will offer a 10% discount on the order.
Question: Are all the items original, and What about condition?
Answer: Since the early 1980's we have compiled an enormous array of magazines and records. Early on we selected only quality original pieces, so rest assured that the pieces you see offered are of the best quality and original. Our units are stored in a temperature controlled environment to preserve that quality, in short we have based The Paperboy News on original & quality material.
Question: How much are my items worth, and where can I sell them?
Answer: Please understand that we are not licensed appraisers and to offer advice on that level would be against the law. Though as free advice please keep in mind that an item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Also keep in mind that just because an item will bring X number of dollars one day, that is not a guarantee that it will bring the same dollar tomorrow. As far as where to sell your items, there are many online websites that offer you space to advertise your items in exchange for a fee. Sorry, The Paperboy News is not one of them. All items you see on our site belong to The Paperboy News, they have been hand selected and priced for listing.
Thank you for not sending us a message asking about the value of your items, or asking us to list and sell them for you.
Question: I'm writing a term paper, building a website, or I'm a teacher and need copies of some advertisements? Can we borrow advertisements for these reasons?
Answer: First of all please realize that making copies of a copyright item is illegal, no matter how you look at it. We simply won't make a copy, and we appreciate that you wouldn't ask us to. As far as loaning out, or giving away merchandise that is not exactly what we are in business to do. And would rather not do it, even for extra tax purposes.
